Quality concrete work should never be poured directly over sod or uncompacted soil. Excess moisture and ground movement beneath the concrete can lead to heaving, settling, cracking, and surface deterioration over time. At Seitz & Sons, we remove existing sod and unsuitable material and install a minimum of 2–4” of compacted crushed stone to create a stable base for the concrete installation.
